A consultation is a structured meeting where we review your situation and outline possible routes. Advice, by contrast, is a written opinion that applies the law to your specific facts. The distinction matters because only written advice carries the professional liability that comes with a formal legal opinion.
Review means we read a contract or deed you already have, flag risks, and suggest amendments. Drafting means we prepare a new document from scratch, tailored to your instructions. A review does not include producing a revised version unless the package explicitly says so.
Our cross-border packages cover French law and Malaysian law as applied in the relevant courts. Where a matter involves a third jurisdiction, we say so in the proposal and confirm whether we can act directly or need to coordinate with local counsel.
Documents in French or Malay that need to be filed with a court must be translated and certified. Translation is billed separately from legal work unless the package states otherwise. We use certified translators and do not rely on machine output for anything that will be submitted.
Indicative timelines are based on current court schedules and the completeness of your file. A package does not guarantee a specific completion date, because procedural delays can come from the other party, the registry, or missing documents. We commit to clear progress updates, not to dates we cannot control.
Court filing fees, notary fees, translation costs, and disbursements are never included in a package price. We itemise these separately so you know exactly where each ringgit and euro goes. If a package mentions a fixed fee, it covers our professional work only.
